Race Director, volunteer.
A triathlete herself and a veteran of several Ironman races, Line simply wanted to work with what she knew as the coolest triathlon ever. She started volunteering for Norseman in 2005, and has served as Race Director over the past three years.
Line is a black belt organizer, with an uncanny ability to keep one eye on the big picture and the other on making sure all the nitty gritty details that make up an event like Norseman move ahead on plan. While she can be the tiniest bit frustrated that not everyone gets everything at the same lightning speed as herself, Line has the biggest heart and the most including personality that ever swam-bike-ran the fjordlands of Norway. Line’s day job is as Regional Director with Intpow, an industry organization that promotes Norwegian sustainable energy companies abroad.
Oh, and yes, she has earned her black Norseman t-shirt and a couple of equally honorable white ones too. All the same, as Line was about to run her first (!) regular marathon this past January, she expressed some concern about being able to complete a marathon without a few hours of swimming and cycling first. Line is vice chair of the board of Hardangervidda Triatlon Klubb (HTK), which owns and organizes Norseman. She also volunteers for her triathlon club SK Rye and for the Norwegian Triathlon Federation and is an approved level 1 ITU Technical Official. She claims to find no time for other hobbies. Go figure!
